Art club for children

What is the club about?

The club is designed to spark creativity, confidence, and art thinking.

  • Learn: We explore an art-related theme — from movements and techniques to new materials and creative approaches.
  • Do: Children choose their own project linked to the topic. I guide them as they develop their ideas and bring them to life.
  • Share: At the end, I'll encourage children to present their work to the group, building confidence and communication skills.

This balance of structure and freedom helps children discover their voice, select their own preferred mediums and themes.

Language options - Spanish

Some sessions are held in Spanish, offering children a fun way to be creative while also hearing and using another language. This is perfect for bilingual families or those who’d like their children to gain exposure to Spanish in a relaxed, artistic setting.

Pleas let me know if your child falls into one of these categories to add them to the most suitable group.

  1. children of bilingual families - Children that understand spoken Spanish although maybe they speak it or not.
  2. language newbies - Children that do not understand spoken Spanish yet.

Please let me know if your child may fall into a different category.

About the teacher

My name is Tipi. I hold an MA in Fine Arts and have worked for many years in the creative industries as a graphic and web designer. I am also a practising artist and a local mum here in HW/FI.

I believe children are natural artists, they are full of ideas and imagination, and my role is to encourage, guide, and nurture their creativity in a supportive environment.

I speak five languages, with Spanish as my mother tongue. I understand how valuable it is to speak different languages, and how challenging traditional learning methods can sometimes be.
In my lessons, children learn through practice, listening, repetition, and plenty of visual support, all while building confidence in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Why Flying Fish?

The flying fish is a symbol of curiosity, courage, and possibility, a creature that dares to leap beyond its element and explore new worlds. At Flying Fish Studio, children are encouraged to do the same: to dive into their creativity, take bold leaps of imagination, and discover new ways of expressing themselves. Just as the flying fish moves gracefully between water and air, our young artists learn to navigate ideas, materials, and languages with confidence and joy.

Will my child take home his artwork every day?

Most of the days the artwork will be finished by the end of the lesson and children will take it home. If they're working on a project over several days, the work will be kept safe in my studio until it's done and ready to take home.

What's the age of children

The lessons are for primary school children from year 1 to year 6.

Is the teacher DBS checked?
